The client approached me with a view to amalgamate an existing website with a brand new 'project-in-work'. Quite simply, the new website had to take the existing content and output it in a more user-friendly, globally accessible format. Myself and the client chose Wordpress purely for its usability and CMS functions. The design approach was based on an old newspaper layout which lends itself nicely to the historical content provided.
